THE POSITION

The College and Career Pathways Counselor will guide TPP’s Madison Park Technical Vocational High School students as they explore various career options, select appropriate postsecondary opportunities, and pursue such opportunities. While the Pathways Counselor’s work will primarily be based out of Madison Park, it is expected that s/he will also be involved with our Cambridge site in some capacity. Additionally, the Pathways Counselor will assist in developing and implementing TPP’s alumni programming. Overall, this role will involve four key substantive areas:

1. College & Career Counseling

2. Financial Aid & College Affordability

3. Employment & Postsecondary Education Access

4. Personalized Student Support & Advocacy

At all times, the Pathways Counselor will support and facilitate a culture of college and career readiness, access, and success. S/he will work directly with students (one-on-one and in group workshops), engage in outreach with key stakeholders (e.g. partner high schools, postsecondary institutions, and other community-based programs), collect data on current students and alumni, and conduct relevant research. As a fast growing organization, TPP’s success is dependent on the commitment and strength of its staff. As such, the input and participation by all staff members in various community events, trainings, and fundraisers are also expected.
