Gary has 30+ years of law and ethics experience, including legal representation of industry-leading biotechnology companies. Gary is Co-Founder and President of Humatics, a Cambridge company, building small, short-range radar systems to transform the relationship between people, places and things. He previously held positions as Senior Advisor at Metamark Genetics in Cambridge, as well as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Knome. Gary formerly was Vice President, Bioethics, Law & Policy at Foundation Medicine, a cancer personalized medicine company. Prior to that position, Gary was Vice President, Ethics and Corporate Responsibility at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for coordinating in-house and external programs in bioethics, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility. Formerly a Lecturer-in-Law at the Boston University School of Law, from 2006-2008 Gary was the Joe and Vi Jacobs Visiting Professor of Biotechnology Law and Ethics at the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences in Claremont, California. Gary has served on numerous non-profit boards, volunteer groups, and philanthropic organizations.
