We partner with professionals and entrepreneurs who want to give back to their community.
Volunteers at The Possible Project help students graduate from high school, complete a post-secondary education or training program, and enter a career that will pay a living wage. With an entrepreneurial mindset and the skills learned at TPP, a student can do anything.
Meet the newest cohort of students who are five weeks into the program. Panelists will listen to student businesses pitch, ask questions, provide feedback, and suggest concrete next steps for their proposed ideas. Each business can earn an investment from TPP, which they can use to develop their prototype or launch their business. *Complete a Volunteer Interest Form before signing up.
Students in Levels 1 and 3 participate in big pitch events, where they present in front of business professionals and local executives. The stakes are high and our students are nervous! Pitch mentors listen to students practice their pitches and provide advice on how to improve. *Complete a Volunteer Interest Form to sign up.
The stakes have been raised for our upper levels. Students have been in the program now for three terms, have started their business, and will be pitching their business in front of an audience. Panelists will listen to venture teams present on a variety of business topics, ask Qs and provide feedback. Topics range from: business concept, marketing strategy, costs, profit margin, customer service, quality control, and investment budget. Each business can earn an investment of up to $300. *Complete a Volunteer Interest Form to sign up.
The purpose of the Career Guest Conference is to give students an opportunity to meet professionals and to learn about their respective occupations and career paths. Student venture teams will be displaying their prototypes and looking for investment (at no cost to you!). “We all grow when we connect with our passion. TPP energizes me and makes me hopeful for our future.”
“I enjoy meeting the students and seeing their passion about their businesses – because it makes contributions (time and money) tangible. I enjoy reaching out to colleagues and engaging them to do something together that is meaningful and outside of work. I enjoy the Possible Project program because is it well run, strategic and pays attention to detail, making volunteering and events seamless and enjoyable.”
“I participated as a panelist for The Possible Project’s Level 1 pitch panel. I was so impressed with the student’s business ideas, their creativity and their passion for business that I decided to learn more about the program and how to stay involved.”
“I enjoy helping students starting with zero knowledge of CAD or design through the full development of a project, resulting in a finished product. I like following the students through the levels of TPP, and seeing them progress through more challenging projects. I also greatly appreciate the partnerships TPP forms with actual businesses, creating realistic but low-risk parallels to real-world industries. The most valuable part of my time at TPP is teaching the next generation of CAD-savvy engineers, designers, and inventors.”
“As someone who started and managed a company during high school, I understand the tremendous amount of learning that a young person can experience through entrepreneurial endeavors. The Possible Project allows me to share my experiences as an entrepreneur and connect with students in a very meaningful way. I like that this program is about empowering students by assisting them in creating real world businesses. This will build their confidence and ability to craft an idea and sell it to the world. Both of these things are invaluable for any career.”
“I volunteered with The Possible Project because I’m excited by the opportunity to get youth engaged in entrepreneurial activities that not only teach technical knowledge and critical thinking skills, but also create an environment of accomplishing change and impact. Teaching students about how the skills they are building now will affect their long-term professional paths. “
“TPP students show an unparalleled level of passion and enthusiasm for their ideas. This is contagious and really helps to keep me involved and interested as they develop their ideas into real businesses.”
